It was built at the beginning of the 20th century in an
eclectic style, over the old site of
Saint Francisco’s Convent, which foundation is attributed to
the King Teobaldo II.During the 3rd Carlist war it was transformed into a military barrack defended by the liberal troops and conquered by the
Carlist General Dorregaray, the 25th of August of 1873, with the presence of Don Carlos. It was destroyed by the mines, burned and devastated, over its site was built the Municipal School and actually is the Town Hall.
